In a dazzling performance, Yulo secured a historic gold medal in the men’s floor exercise finals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. However, the gymnast’s triumph was not confined to the sport alone; he also won the heart of his remarkable girlfriend, Chloe.
Their love story began with a simple chat.
Chloe, initially a starstruck fangirl, transformed into Yulo’s devoted girlfriend and cheerleader. Their relationship took off when Chloe took the bold step of sending a direct message to Yulo on X (formerly known as Twitter), illustrating that sometimes making the first move can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
“Hi, I’m a fan po. Just came across your account and noticed you’re not as active as before. I hope you’re doing well. Stay safe. God bless,” wrote Chloe, then 18, in April 2020.
“Hello, hehe. Anyway, I’m doing great here. Thank you. Take care and God bless,” replied Yulo, then 20.
“Aww, I didn’t expect you’d reply and even follow me back. Thank you so much. Have a great week ahead,” Chloe responded.
This simple exchange blossomed into something magical. Despite Yulo training in Japan and Chloe studying in Melbourne, Australia, their hearts remained connected.
Late-night video calls and unwavering support from afar strengthened their bond over two years of long-distance relationship. Chloe travelled from Australia to Hanoi, Vietnam, to witness Yulo perform at the 31st Southeast Asian Games, further proving her dedication.
Chloe’s support never wavered, even during the 2024 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series in Doha, Qatar. There, Yulo clinched four gold medals in the all-around, floor, vault, and parallel bars events, with Chloe cheering him on.
