7-8-2023 (SINGAPORE) Chinese automaker BYD has launched its second ‘automotive lifestyle outlet’ in Singapore, this time at the Suntec City mall. Located in Tower 1, the outlet aims to offer visitors an interactive experience encompassing BYD’s electric vehicles, dining concept, and retail offerings.
The 2,200 square foot showroom showcases BYD’s current lineup of EVs in the city-state, including the Atto 3 SUV in different variants, the Dolphin hatchback and the E6 MPV. Demo units of the Dolphin and Atto 3 are available for test drives.
BYD Singapore says the outlet combines a high-tech automotive space with a cosy dining area for visitors. The menu features signature dishes like Qin Shi Chuan Mala Chicken alongside lifestyle merchandise for sale.
BYD also took the opportunity to demonstrate the Dolphin’s V2L (vehicle to load) capabilities by powering a guitar and speaker using the EV.
The launch event saw BYD Singapore sign an MOU with travel agency Chan Brothers to offer BYD-themed travel experiences for customers and EV owners. This includes an upcoming trip for BYD owners to visit the brand’s headquarters in Shenzhen, China.
BYD Singapore managing director James Ng said the outlet aims to “redefine the automotive experience by combining cutting-edge technology, delightful dining, and environmental consciousness.”He added that BYD is prioritizing ways “to elevate our customers’ experience.”
Ng also revealed that the BYD Seal sedan will make its Singapore debut next month in September 2023. BYD says it plans to launch a dedicated app for EV owners in Singapore that will integrate lifestyle and automotive benefits through exclusive offerings, news, and partner perks.
The BYD Suntec outlet joins other ‘automotive lifestyle’ ventures operated by BYD in Singapore, including outlets in Tanjong Pagar, Balestier and Hillview.
