26-1-2024 (KUALA LUMPUR) Malaysian businessman Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir has been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for an investigation involving a government-linked company.
According to Sinar Harian, Mokhzani, the second son of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, arrived at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya around 11 am on Friday (Jan 26) for questioning under the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorist Financing and Proceeds from Illegal Activities Act 2001.
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed Mokhzani’s presence, stating, “Yes, I confirm. He was present this morning,” to Sinar Harian.
Mokhzani’s brother, Datuk Mirzan Mahathir, was previously questioned by the MACC on Jan 17.
