21-2-2024 (SINGAPORE) A passenger not only evaded paying his bus fare but also engaged in a heated argument with a bus fare inspector who confronted him. The confrontation, captured in a video posted on Complaint Singapore on Wednesday (Feb 21), showcased a young man’s aggressive exchange with a bus fare inspector on the upper deck of an unidentified bus.
In the one-minute clip, the irate passenger stood up, questioning the authority of the fare inspector with a sharp, “Who are you?” He went on to slap away the bus fare inspector’s identification card, prompting another passenger to intervene and prevent a physical altercation.
Amidst a stream of Hokkien vulgarities, the agitated man insisted that he did not possess an ez-link card and claimed to lack spare change or cash to pay for his bus fare.
Expressing frustration, he warned, “Don’t test my patience lah,” to the fare inspector, who, realizing the passenger’s adamant refusal to pay, threatened to file a report against him.
The video circulated widely, drawing criticism from netizens directed at the passenger for disrespecting the bus fare inspector. However, some praised the intervention of a fellow passenger in a white T-shirt, commending him for preventing the situation from escalating further.
