22-5-2024 (SINGAPORE) A bus crash at Changi Airport Terminal 3 resulted in 20 people being taken to hospital. The incident occurred around 12:40 pm when bus service 858 collided with a road blocker that had been unexpectedly deployed after a security barrier was raised, allowing the bus to pass, according to Glenn Lim, Director of Communications and Customer Experience at Tower Transit, the bus operator.
Lim reported that the bus driver and 21 passengers were injured in the crash. An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway. Tower Transit is actively reaching out to the injured passengers and their families to offer assistance. Lim encouraged those affected by the accident to contact the bus operator for support.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that they were alerted to the road traffic accident at Changi Airport Terminal 3 Arrival Drive at approximately 12:45 pm. Twenty people were subsequently transported to three hospitals: 10 to Sengkang General Hospital, nine to Raffles Hospital, and one to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
A video shared on the Facebook page SG Road Vigilante showed passengers on the bus appearing disoriented, with some seated on the ground. One passenger was seen with a cut on her forehead, with bloodied tissues nearby.
