9-3-2024 (BANGKOK) The Kuraburi District Police Station in Phang Nga Province, Thailand, responded to a report from a local fishmonger on Thursday, expressing concern about a distressed Burmese worker seen near the pier of the Surin Islands Marine National Park. The individual, wielding a machete and exhibiting erratic behaviour in the dock area, raised fears of potential harm to local residents and tourists. In response, the fishmonger collaborated with rescue teams to assess the situation.
Upon arrival, responders discovered a Burmese man, approximately 40 years old, in an unconscious and agitated state. Staff and rescuers successfully subdued him using tools, despite strong resistance and vocal protests from the individual.
Preliminary examinations revealed the presence of drugs in the man’s system, leading to the initial conclusion that his frenzied state was a result of drug consumption. He was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment, with further legal actions planned upon his recovery and return to consciousness.
