6-6-2023 (SEOUL) Jungkook, a member of the K-pop group BTS, is set to release his debut solo album, according to a report by Sports Chosun. The LP is expected to drop on July 14, although the exact release date has yet to be confirmed by Big Hit Music, the band’s label. A spokesperson for the company told Star News that an announcement will be made once the release schedule for Jungkook’s solo album has been finalized.
Jungkook, 25, has released several solo tracks, including “Still With You,” “Dreamers,” “My Time,” and “Stay Alive.” The announcement of his debut solo album comes as BTS prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The band will release its new song, “Take Two,” on June 9, in honor of its loyal fanbase, known as ARMY. The song is the group’s second new track this year, following “The Planet,” which was released in May.
Big Hit Entertainment, the band’s management company, said that “Take Two” conveys BTS’s appreciation toward ARMY for the love they’ve shown and their desire to always be together with their fans. The band will mark its 10th anniversary on June 13.
BTS has also been teasing its BTS Festa event, which will take place over two weeks in Seoul, starting on June 12 and running until June 25. The event will take place at major landmarks in the city, including the Han River and Seoul Tower, with the main event scheduled for June 17 at Han River Park. The event will include previously unseen content, special releases, and solo work.
In June 2022, BTS announced its hiatus. Since then, Jin and J-Hope have embarked on their mandatory military service, while other members have focused on solo music projects.
