2-6-2023 (HONG KONG) In a shocking and terrifying incident that took place at Plaza Hollywood in Diamond Hill today at 5:14 pm, two lives were tragically cut short. CCTV footage captured the horrifying scene as a 26-year-old woman fell victim to a relentless knife attack, enduring at least 34 stab wounds inflicted by a 39-year-old male suspect. Her 22-year-old female friend, who bravely attempted to intervene and save her, was also slashed in the neck, ultimately succumbing to her injuries. The 26-year-old victim was the first to be pronounced dead, while her 22-year-old companion was later certified deceased.
The video surveillance footage reveals the bald suspect, dressed in a white vest and black shorts, calmly entering the mall corridor. Moments later, two women with short, brown hair emerged from a store, both clad in black clothing. Engaging in a brief conversation, they stood in the corridor before the horrifying events unfolded. Suddenly, the bald man launched a vicious attack on the woman with short hair, using a sashimi knife to strike her back with at least four forceful stabs. As she collapsed to the ground, desperately attempting to shield herself with her hands, the assailant showed no mercy, repeatedly stabbing her chest. Witnessing her friend’s life hanging in the balance, the woman with long hair valiantly rushed to her aid, forcefully pushing the attacker into the store and pulling the wounded woman to safety. However, the relentless assailant refused to relent, targeting the 26-year-old victim’s lower body with further stabs. Despite the long-haired woman’s courageous efforts to protect her friend, the attacker persisted, inflicting a total of 11 wounds to the short-haired woman’s chest within a mere 4 seconds. Overwhelmed by the severity of her injuries, the short-haired victim found herself on the brink of losing consciousness, while her loyal companion desperately attempted to assess her wounds. Tragically, she too became a target, pursued and viciously slashed by the bald man.
Law enforcement swiftly responded to the crime scene, promptly apprehending the 39-year-old male suspect and confiscating a 12-inch sashimi knife as key evidence. Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the motive behind this heinous attack, as the police meticulously piece together the events leading up to the incident. Disturbing online images have emerged, capturing a man wearing a white vest and shorts, wielding a knife as he mercilessly assaulted a defenseless woman on the ground, her agony and suffering apparent. Furthermore, a video clip depicts a bystander at the scene performing CPR in a valiant effort to revive the injured victim.
According to preliminary reports, it is believed that the 39-year-old attacker was the husband of one of the deceased women. Authorities suspect that the motive for the attack stemmed from suspicions of infidelity, leading the assailant to target his wife’s alleged lover with a knife.
