1-8-2023 (BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN) Brunei Darussalam is gearing up to host the 21st Borneo Island International Big Bike Festival (BIIBBF) from December 8th to 10th this year. The event comes after the postponement of its initial hosting, which was scheduled for June 2020, due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The Darussalam Motorcycle Association (Pemoda) and the principle BIIBBF motorcycle clubs have reached a mutual agreement to organize this grand bike festival.
A meeting was held at the Tutong Youth Centre, chaired by Pemoda Vice President and Chairperson of the 21st BIIBBF Committee, Mohamad Shahrin Shahbuddin, along with the festival committee members.
This marks the sixth time that Brunei will host the festival, which aims to showcase the country’s religious, ethnic, and national diversity to the world, as stated by Mohamad Shahrin.
The festival is expected to attract around 500 to 700 local and foreign participants, providing a platform for bikers from various regions to come together and celebrate their passion for motorcycling.
Alongside Pemoda, other principle BIIBBF clubs and associations, including Sabah Big Bikers Association (SBBA) from Sabah, Borneo Island Big Bikers (BIBB) from Sarawak, Ikatan Motor Besar Indonesia (IMBI) Pontianak from Kalimantan, and LA Riders Club from Labuan, will also be involved in organizing the event.
Since its inception in 1998, the BIIBBF has grown to become the largest and most prestigious big bike festival in Borneo, playing a crucial role in promoting tourism in Brunei and across the island.
