8-10-2023 (MANILA) In the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2023, Boracay, Palawan, and Siargao have secured their positions among the “Top Islands in Asia.” The foreign travel magazine conducted an online poll, and the results placed Boracay in third place with a score of 91.07, Palawan in sixth place with 89.71, and Siargao in tenth place with 87.37.
Bali in Indonesia claimed the top spot on the list, followed by Koh Samui in Thailand. Boracay’s impressive ranking placed it ahead of renowned destinations such as Phuket in Thailand, Langkawi in Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. Palawan showcased its natural wonders to secure the sixth position, while the captivating beauty of Siargao landed it in the top ten.
Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco expressed her admiration for the accolades received by Boracay, Palawan, and Siargao, stating, “This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and sustainable tourism efforts of our country, from our local communities, national and local government agencies, and stakeholders who have strived tirelessly to preserve and enhance the beauty of these islands.”
The Department of Tourism revealed that approximately 600,000 readers of Condé Nast Traveler participated in the online poll, emphasizing the significance of the recognition garnered by the Philippine islands. Boracay has consistently demonstrated its allure by previously topping Condé Nast Traveler’s Top Islands in Asia list in 2020 and 2022.
Palawan has also showcased its remarkable offerings, securing the fourth spot in 2020 and the eighth spot in 2022. With Siargao’s inclusion in this year’s rankings, it further solidifies the Philippines’ reputation as a premier destination for breathtaking island escapes.
