4-1-2024 (TOKYO) Today, the Japanese government faced bomb threats with several municipal governments in Fukushima, Nagasaki, and Yamagata prefectures reporting notifications about potential bomb detonations. Law enforcement agencies are actively conducting searches for any suspicious items.
Reports from Fukushima Television (FTV), Nagasaki Television (KTN), and Yamagata Television (TUY) indicate that multiple municipalities within the prefectures have been targeted by these bomb threats. In Minamisoma City, Fukushima, the municipal office received a fax asserting that bombs had been planted in public facilities, scheduled to detonate between 3:34 pm and 8:10 pm local time.

Similar threats were reported by city offices in Uetsu City, Myoko City, Itoigawa City in Niigata Prefecture, as well as Omura City in Nagasaki Prefecture. Authorities have initiated investigations to verify the presence of any suspicious objects. An online publication linked the bomb threats to an individual named Takahiro Karasawa, whose fax signature appeared on the threatening documents. It is essential to note that Takahiro Karasawa is a lawyer in Japan who has been repeatedly impersonated and falsely associated with bomb threats. Many believe these threats are nothing more than malicious intimidation tactics.
