6-12-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) Residents around Kampung Pendamar, Pandamaran, were shocked to discover the body of a woman buried in cement in the bathroom of a rental house on Sunday. The gruesome discovery was made when an individual noticed the presence of police and firemen in front of the house.
The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, explained that he saw a large number of policemen and firemen at the scene around 9:30 pm. They were observed removing lumps of clay and a package believed to contain the woman’s body.
According to the long-time resident, the body was cemented in the bathroom area, specifically in the toilet. The tenant had previously complained about frequent leaks in the toilet, and it is suspected that the firemen had to break the cement to retrieve the body.
Despite the shocking discovery, the atmosphere surrounding the incident remained quiet. Another resident, who also preferred not to be identified, expressed surprise at such a grim occurrence in the area. He mentioned that while there are foreign tenants in the vicinity, they have never caused any problems before. The resident hopes that the police will swiftly apprehend those responsible for the crime.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are underway under Section 302 of the Penal Code. The victim, believed to be a foreign woman, is currently undergoing an autopsy at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
The police are actively seeking two foreign men, identified as Ranjit Singh and Mandeep Singh, for further questioning in relation to the case. Both individuals were tenants who had rented the house. Members of the public with information are urged to contact the Klang Selatan police headquarters or the nearest police station.
Hussein advised against sharing any pictures of the incident on social media, as it could cause unnecessary panic among the public.
According to the police chief, a local man had reported that a foreigner informed him about the body in the water tank of the rented house on December 3 at 10:58 pm. Further investigations revealed that the person who lodged the report had rented the house to the two foreigners from 2019 until October 2021. Prior to renting out the property to a new tenant, the owner had inspected the water tank, which was found to be cemented.
The previous tenant had claimed that the cementing was done to prevent rat droppings from contaminating the water tank. Unaware of any suspicious activity, the owner subsequently rented the house to another tenant. It was only last month, when the owner asked a foreigner to repair a leak in the roof, that he was informed about the presence of a corpse in the water tank.
The police received information that one of the previous tenants had returned to their home country. Based on this information, the owner decided to file a police report. The authorities, along with the fire and rescue department and the Forensics Unit from Selangor, broke down the cemented area and discovered the remains of a woman.
A 53-year-old suspect has been detained. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
