15-3-2024 (SINGAPORE) The lifeless body of a 51-year-old man was discovered in the waters near Senoko Way, close to Woodlands, on March 11.
According to reports from Malaysian news outlet Sin Chew Daily, the victim is believed to be a Malaysian private-hire driver based on information provided by the Johor police.
Earlier on March 11, the man’s car was found abandoned on a bridge in Permas Jaya, Johor, at approximately 6 a.m. The Johor police informed Sin Chew that the man’s identification card and mobile phone were left inside the vehicle.
In an effort to locate him, the man’s family turned to social media, appealing for eyewitness accounts and dashboard camera footage from vehicles in the vicinity.
Subsequently, his body was discovered in the waters of Singapore, as reported by Sin Chew. The family was notified of the tragic news and made arrangements to travel to Singapore to retrieve his body.
In response to inquiries from The Straits Times, the police confirmed that they were alerted to a suspected drowning incident near 27 Senoko Way at 3:24 p.m.
Authorities retrieved the body from the water, and a paramedic at the scene pronounced the man deceased. The police stated that, based on preliminary investigations, foul play is not suspected in the incident.
