5-5-2024 (PHUKET) The body of a foreign man was discovered in the waters off Phuket by the passing fishing boat ‘Choktawanchai 17’, whose captain promptly alerted Chalong police around 1:30 pm.
Marine officials and officers from the Andaman Tourist Rescue Center at Chalong Pier swiftly dispatched a boat to retrieve the body, confirming the deceased’s foreign nationality upon recovery.
Despite wearing a life jacket, the body exhibited no visible signs of injury, suggesting an absence of foul play. Authorities estimate the man passed away approximately two days prior to the discovery of his body.
Following retrieval, the body was brought ashore, with volunteers from the Phuket Ruamjai Rescue Foundation facilitating its transfer to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town for further examination.
Police have initiated efforts to ascertain the deceased’s identity and determine the circumstances surrounding his demise.
