27-2-2024 (SINGAPORE) The lifeless body of a 36-year-old man was discovered near a slip road leading to the Central Expressway (CTE) on Monday (Feb 26), raising concerns among authorities. The incident prompted a significant presence of police officers and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel at the location along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.
Reported by Shin Min Daily News, a Shin Min reporter who visited the scene around 5 pm described the walkway where the body was found as narrow and secluded. The nearest residential estate, Block 560 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, is approximately 60 meters away.
According to an unnamed passer-by, a witness reported seeing a body hanging from the road railing, surrounded by gnats and bugs, emitting a foul smell. The passer-by speculated that based on the stage of decomposition, the individual might have passed away around two days ago.
Eyewitness photos revealed that the man was found with a rope around his neck. SCDF, responding to AsiaOne’s inquiries, mentioned they received a call for assistance near the slip road along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 towards CTE (SLE) at approximately 11:50 am.
The police, contacted separately, confirmed being alerted to an unnatural death case at the mentioned time and location. The 36-year-old man was found motionless and pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.
Preliminary investigations by the police do not indicate foul play, and the authorities are currently conducting further inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
