28-2-2024 (HANOI) At noon on February 28, the site of a fire incident at Hiệp Tân Market is still under investigation by authorities.
Around 5 am on the same day, a fire broke out in a stall at Hiệp Tân Market. Upon discovering the blaze, local residents in the vicinity attempted to extinguish the flames on the spot but were unsuccessful.
Due to the stalls primarily trading in clothing, the fire quickly intensified, spreading to two adjacent stalls and a three-story residential building. Many individuals residing inside the building were safely guided to exit the premises.
The Tân Phú District Police Fire Prevention and Control (PCCC) and Crime Prevention unit dispatched numerous firefighting vehicles along with dozens of officers to the scene to quell the flames.
By shortly after 6 am, the fire was largely extinguished, but it had already caused significant damage to the properties within the three stalls and a residential home.
The cause and extent of the damage from the fire are still under investigation by the authorities.
