9-6-2023 Following the highly anticipated premiere of HBO’s latest series, “The Idol,” the spotlight has shifted to Blackpink’s Jennie, as netizens engage in heated discussions about the perceived raunchiness of her scenes. However, it seems that this might not be the last we see of Jennie in the Hollywood scene, as old rumors regarding her potential involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have resurfaced.
According to South Korean media outlet Dispatch, Jennie is set to join the cast of the first-ever Asian superhero team series titled “Team Agents of Atlas.” In this groundbreaking production, she will portray the character Seol Hee, also known as Luna Snow. Luna Snow is a K-pop singer and superhero who utilizes her ice-manipulation abilities to safeguard people in the Pacific Rim and around the globe.
One of the reasons Jennie is considered suitable for this role is her proficiency in both Korean and English, which aligns with Luna Snow’s character background. Notably, Luna Snow was previously voiced by Luna, a singer from the K-pop group f(x), in the 2020 video game “Marvel Super War.”
Dispatch reported that rumors about Jennie’s casting have been circulating since January of this year, while fans claim that they originated in 2022. Adding fuel to the speculation, fans have observed that several Asian cast members from the MCU, including Fala Chen from “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Claudia Kim from “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” and Benedict Wong from “Doctor Strange,” have started following Jennie on Instagram.
Furthermore, there is a connection between Jennie and Simu Liu, the star of “Shang-Chi,” as he was spotted attending Blackpink’s Born Pink World Tour in Los Angeles last November with his girlfriend Allison Hsu, who happens to be the marketing manager of the K-pop group’s US label.
