7-7-2023 (WASHINGTON) Patrick Hillmann, Chief Strategy Officer of Binance, announced his departure from the cryptocurrency exchange via a tweet on Thursday. This comes shortly after Binance and its CEO, Changpeng Zhao, faced legal action from U.S. regulators, who accused them of operating a “web of deception” and filed 13 charges against them in a federal court in Washington D.C. Binance has stated its intent to vigorously defend itself against these allegations.
Confirming his exit, Hillmann tweeted, “It’s true that I am leaving Binance,” while emphasizing that the departure was amicable. Hillmann joined the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange in 2021 and assumed the role of Chief Strategy Officer in October of the same year.
