14-2-2025 (BALI) A manhunt is underway in Bali after social media posts allegedly identified the suspect responsible for the fatal stabbing of 31-year-old Kadek Parwata in North Denpasar early Thursday morning.
The brutal incident occurred outside a convenience store on Jalan Nangka Utara in the Tonja district of North Denpasar at approximately 2 AM on Thursday, 13 February 2025.
Social media users have widely circulated content from a TikTok account ‘@maspras086’, which allegedly belongs to the perpetrator. However, Bali Regional Police spokesperson Chief Commissioner Ariasandy told reporters on Friday that investigations are still ongoing.
“We are still conducting our preliminary investigation,” Ariasandy stated when contacted by local media.
The viral social media posts include several photographs purportedly showing the suspect – a stocky man with short hair and distinctive tattoos across both arms and chest. One image shows the man reclining on a blue pillow, displaying two knives alongside cigarettes, a lighter, and other personal effects. The posts are captioned with claims identifying him as Parwata’s killer.
Additional images show the suspect in traditional Balinese attire alongside a woman, who social media users claim to be his former wife. However, police have yet to confirm any connection between the TikTok account and the stabbing incident.
According to witnesses, the deadly confrontation unfolded when Parwata and a friend were approaching the convenience store to purchase drinks. Before they could enter the establishment, they became embroiled in an argument with an unidentified man. The altercation quickly escalated, resulting in Parwata being stabbed in the chest near his heart.
CCTV footage from the scene shows the suspect engaged in a heated exchange with another youth prior to the stabbing. Following the attack, Parwata was seen staggering while clutching his chest before collapsing. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries due to excessive blood loss.
