19-7-2024 (JAKARTA) A helicopter crash in Bali’s picturesque Suluban area ended without fatalities, as all passengers and the pilot emerged unscathed from the wreckage. The incident occurred on Friday, 19 July 2024, in the village of Pecatu, South Kuta district, Badung regency, sending shockwaves through the popular tourist destination.
Kombes Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, Head of Public Relations for the Bali Regional Police, confirmed the incident and stated that officers had been immediately dispatched to the scene. “Our team is currently on-site investigating the crash.”
Eyewitness footage obtained by local media outlets shows the dramatic aftermath of the crash. The helicopter can be seen overturned at the base of a cliff, its tail section severely damaged and debris scattered around the site. Local residents quickly gathered around the wreckage, though notably absent from the initial footage were medical personnel or rescue teams, suggesting the rapid and spontaneous nature of the community’s response.
According to eyewitness accounts, the helicopter was observed flying at an unusually low altitude shortly before the crash.
