26-5-2023 (Beijing) Baidu’s CEO Robin Li announced on Friday that the company will soon launch Ernie 3.5, a generative AI large-language model that will upgrade its search engine and power its ChatGPT-like app, Ernie Bot.
Li made the announcement at the Zhongguancun Forum, one of China’s most well-known technology forums, approximately two months after Ernie Bot was first shown to the public. The app received mixed reviews, and since then, Baidu has remained in trial mode, with select companies and users invited to test the products and provide feedback.
Ernie 3.5 is expected to improve the functionality of Baidu’s search engine and provide a more natural and human-like experience for users. The technology will also power the next generation of Ernie Bot, which will be able to provide more personalized responses to users based on their search history and preferences.
