6-9-2023 (BANGKOK) Tragedy struck at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Tuesday night when the lifeless body of an 82-year-old Australian man was discovered in the arriving passengers terminal.
The man was found in a prone position, sprawled across seats on the second floor of the arrival terminal near Gate 8. His untimely demise was reported to local authorities around 8 PM.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the man may have passed away at least three hours prior to the discovery of his body. In response to the situation, airport officials and the police promptly cordoned off the area, and the deceased was transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for a post-mortem examination.
For the time being, the identity of the deceased individual is being withheld, pending the notification of his relatives. Authorities have also informed the Australian embassy about the incident, according to police sources.
