31-3-2025 (MANILA) A placid Sunday evening in Antipolo City turned tragically violent when a heated traffic dispute spiralled into gunfire, leaving three individuals wounded and a community shaken.
The perpetrator, a 28-year-old man identified only as “Kenneth”, was detained following a dramatic pursuit that culminated at the Masinag checkpoint in Barangay Mayamot. The suspect, who had attempted to flee in his black Toyota Fortuner, was ultimately cornered by local law enforcement.
Eyewitness footage, which rapidly spread across social media platforms, captured the harrowing sequence of events. What began as a verbal altercation devolved into physical violence, with the suspect engaging in fisticuffs with a motorcyclist before brandishing a firearm and discharging multiple rounds.
Among those caught in the crossfire was a 52-year-old man known as “Peter”, who sustained critical injuries to his head. Two other victims – “Patrick”, 22, and “Davis”, 29 – were also wounded, with injuries to the arm and chest respectively. The latter had reportedly attempted to defuse the situation before being shot. All three casualties were swiftly transported to Cabading Hospital for urgent medical attention.
In a particularly distressing development, video evidence showed the assailant hastily carrying a wounded woman into his vehicle amidst the chaos. The incident, which unfolded around 17:00 local time, has prompted renewed discussions about road safety and gun violence in the metropolitan region.
