24-11-2023 (HONG KONG) The father of Heavenly King Andy Lau, Lau Li, passed away peacefully on the 20th, as announced in the blog section of his fanclub, Andy World Club, on the evening of November 23.
In a brief but heartfelt message, the veteran actor-singer expressed his gratitude, saying, “Dear family, my father died peacefully on the 20th surrounded by his family. Thank you.”
In a show of mourning, the fanclub’s website has been transformed into greyscale.
Andy Lau, 62, born in Tai Po, Hong Kong, is the fourth among six siblings, with three older sisters, a younger sister, and a younger brother.
His father, Lau Li, had served as a firefighter and had reportedly been hospitalized for an undisclosed period before his passing. In 2003, Lau Li battled bladder cancer, successfully undergoing surgery to remove the tumor.
Andy Lau confirmed the news through his agency, expressing appreciation for the concern and stating that he is currently attending to posthumous affairs.
