23-10-2023 (BANGKOK) A challenge issued on Instagram by an American boy has ignited widespread interest in Muay Thai boxing, generating a new record for “likes” on a comment, as noted by former finance minister Korn Chatikavanij.
Mr. Korn took to his Facebook account, “Korn Chatikavanij,” two days ago to highlight the Instagram user “reed_harrington23,” who made a promise in a video clip that if he could amass 200,000 followers, he would fulfill the request of the top comment.
Among the respondents, Instagram user “fiven9nekid” advised “reed_harrington23” to travel to Thailand, learn the art of Muay Thai, win a tournament, return to the United States, join the Ultimate Fighting Championship, maintain an undefeated record in his weight class, retire from the sport, and give an interview acknowledging that the comment was the catalyst for his fighting career.
Remarkably, this comment garnered a staggering 2.57 million likes, shattering the previous record for the most-liked comment on Instagram.
With over 300,000 followers, the American boy is now a social media sensation, and Mr. Korn believes that Thailand should be prepared to welcome him. Mr. Korn emphasised that this delightful development showcases Thailand’s unique, captivating, and exotic appeal to the international community.
“This viral phenomenon serves as a form of public relations for the country and requires no budgetary allocation,” Mr. Korn noted.
