6-8-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) A couple who knew each other for only five days got married but ended their marriage after just two weeks. The husband, Danny (pseudonym, 40), expressed that although he knew divorce would anger the heavens, their fate had run its course.
Danny, a hairstylist, informed the Metropolis Daily that he initiated the divorce through WhatsApp at 4:04 PM on 30th July, ending the relationship with his 22-year-old wife, Noazira. The couple is currently living separately.
“I can’t disclose the reason for the divorce, but I can say that we couldn’t get along,” Danny stated.
Danny and Noazira were a “gender-fluid” couple, with Danny identifying as gay and Noazira embracing a tomboyish appearance. Their relationship caught the attention of social media users early on, with some accusing them of being together for publicity. Despite the skepticism, they got married after just five days of knowing each other, only for the marriage to end in divorce.
“I know that divorce is something that will anger the heavens, but perhaps our fate was meant to end here,” Danny remarked.

Danny made the decision to divorce without consulting his family, and he admitted to not answering his mother’s calls as he wasn’t ready to reveal the true reason for the divorce.
Recently, Danny posted a TikTok video of memories with his wife, captioned “It’s over” with a sad emoticon. His followers noticed that all the couple’s old videos had been deleted, leading to speculation about their marital issues. Despite feeling saddened by the short-lived marriage, Danny acknowledged that he couldn’t fight against fate.
“To be honest, I don’t blame her, nor do I hold any grudges. Perhaps I also made mistakes that I wasn’t aware of or didn’t become a good husband.”
“While we can’t be spouses anymore, I hope we can remain good friends to share our thoughts with each other,” he added.
Danny confirmed that he is firm in his decision for divorce but remains open to the possibility of reuniting if fate permits. He also denied allegations from netizens that their marriage was a publicity stunt, emphasizing that he genuinely wanted Noazira to be his lawful wife and that he spent money for that purpose.
Regardless, he forgives those who criticized him and expresses gratitude to those who have offered encouragement and blessings.
“In these two weeks of marriage, I experienced the feeling of being a husband and learned to love and enjoy the happiness of having a family, albeit briefly,” Danny shared.
Danny plans to file for divorce at the Selayang Court in Rawang New Town next Monday but affirms that he is not opposed to remarrying.
According to earlier reports from various media outlets, Danny had never intended to marry despite being in relationships with men before. Although his family had arranged several blind dates for him, none resulted in marriage until he met Noazira. Noazira, a frozen food factory worker, has been dressing in a masculine style since she was 17. When she invited Danny to an Arabic restaurant, he discovered she was not a man but was captivated by her and proposed just five days after getting to know her.
Noazira admitted that she had never thought about marrying so quickly but saw Danny as a patient and charming man, which led her to say yes to his proposal, hoping to cultivate love after marriage. Despite surprising both families, they were pleased to see their children find companionship and believed it was a destined match.
