21-6-2023 (CALIFORNIA) Harrison Ford, at the age of 80, bid farewell to his iconic role as Indiana Jones on the set of the upcoming film Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny, expressing a profound sense of peace and satisfaction. Ford, who has portrayed the legendary archaeologist for the last time in this film, is content with the work he has accomplished in the production.
During an interview with Digital Spy, Ford was asked about his last day on set. He shared, “The feeling I had is the feeling you have when you’ve made something, and you can look at it, or you can remember having made it, and (having) the satisfaction of putting work in, and getting something worthy out of it.”
He continued, “I felt a sense of peace, a sense of contentment, that this particular job that (James Mangold) and I and all the other people involved had done together, was concluded in a way that felt really satisfying to me. It is my hope that others find it as satisfying as I did.”
Harrison Ford returns to the role of Indiana Jones after a gap of 15 years since the last film, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. The actor desired to reflect his character’s advancing years in the latest installment.
He elaborated, “Well, it wasn’t as though we sat around for 10 years waiting to come up with an idea. When we finished the last film, I don’t think anybody thought about going and doing another film for some time.”
Ford added, “And then there were some interesting ideas that were floated. But they didn’t quite gel over a period of time. And then we found an idea, and a script, and a strong story that we wanted to tell.”
Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny marks the end of an era for Harrison Ford and his portrayal of the beloved adventurer. With a sense of peace and accomplishment, Ford bids farewell to the character that has left an indelible mark on cinematic history.
