16-6-2023 (JAKARTA) Putri Ariani, the rising star of Indonesian singing, presented the Golden Buzzer she received from Simon Cowell, a judge on America’s Got Talent (AGT), to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo during a meeting at the Presidential Palace.
President Jokowi extended an invitation to Putri and her parents to meet him at the Palace following her remarkable performance on AGT, where the 17-year-old singer captivated the judges and the audience, earning the highly sought-after Golden Buzzer.
Upon receiving the prestigious trophy, Jokowi expressed that it was a testament to Putri’s immense talent and predicted that it would guarantee her success in the talent competition.
“The Golden Buzzer automatically grants her a spot in the final. This is the ultimate recognition from Simon Cowell, who possesses a keen instinct. He is seldom mistaken, but we shall see,” stated Jokowi after their meeting.
Jokowi further revealed that he would cast his vote for Putri in her upcoming AGT performance.
“I will certainly cawe-cawe,” Jokowi jokingly remarked, using the term he recently employed, which was perceived by many as meddling in the election.
The President also disclosed his plans to invite Putri to perform during the celebration event for Indonesia’s independence on August 17 at the State Palace.
