15-6-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) Danial Izzat, a student at UiTM, has successfully completed his university journey, and what makes it even more remarkable is that he managed to wear his graduation gown on the Annapurna Peak in Nepal, capturing this special moment. Danial climbed the Annapurna Peak on May 17 and returned to Malaysia on May 22, the day before his graduation.
He shared, “I have been planning this mountain climb since last year, with the goal of wearing a graduation gown near the mountain peak. Initially, I planned to do it near Mount Kinabalu, but the dates didn’t align. Since I was already in Nepal, I decided to change my plan and brought the gown with me.”
According to Danial, since graduation gowns are usually available ahead of time, and it seemed like no one had taken a photo wearing a graduation gown in high-altitude areas, he wanted to do something unique. Despite the challenging nature of mountain climbing,
Danial expressed his satisfaction with being able to wear the sacred gown in the extreme cold weather of the mountainous region. He said, “I was very excited because Annapurna Peak was a tremendous challenge for me. I had to endure extreme weather conditions, ranging from rain to snow and extreme cold. Annapurna is one of the deadliest peaks, even more dangerous than Mount Everest.”
Danial also mentioned that climbing the mountain was challenging, but completing his education was equally demanding, and now he is currently traveling in Indonesia.
