13-6-2023 (SINGAPORE) Lam Wen Jun Howard, a 24-year-old employee at Gym Virgin Active in Guoco Tower, is facing allegations of stealing two high-value watches from men’s lockers. The stolen timepieces, a S$13,300 Rolex Submariner Hulk and a S$160,000 Patek Philippe, amounting to a total worth of S$173,300, have been recovered.
On Tuesday, Lam was charged with two counts of theft as a servant. The first incident allegedly occurred on 10th January this year when he purportedly stole the Rolex from a locker around 2pm. Approximately a month later, he is accused of stealing the Patek Philippe from another locker belonging to a 35-year-old individual.
The case was brought to the attention of the police on 17th February following a report. Subsequently, the two watches were recovered.
During the court proceedings, Lam expressed his intention to seek legal advice and mentioned the possibility of applying for representation by the Public Defender’s Office. His next court appearance is scheduled for July.
If found guilty of theft by servant, Lam could face a maximum sentence of seven years in prison and a fine.
