8-6-2023 (JAKARTA) Tragedy struck on Wednesday in Semarang, Central Java, as a multiple-vehicle crash resulted in the loss of two lives and left several others injured.
The incident occurred when a truck loaded with soil was traveling from the southern side and suddenly veered off course, colliding with multiple vehicles. The impact was so severe that the truck flipped over and dragged several meters, according to Yunaldi, the head of Semarang’s police traffic unit.
Yunaldi confirmed, “The victims who lost their lives were the driver of a minibus and a passenger seated in the front.”
The aftermath of the accident caused a major traffic disruption, with the mangled truck taking four hours to be removed from the scene using an excavator. As a result, a lengthy traffic jam ensued, causing inconvenience for motorists.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash, shedding light on the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
