7-6-2023 (LONDON) Have you ever experienced trouble due to sharing the same name as someone else? A man preparing to embark on his vacation to Spain received a notification from the airline the night before his trip, informing him that his seat had been canceled and that he would be banned from flying with the airline for the next ten years, all due to a case of mistaken identity.
Keith Harris, a man from the UK, had originally planned to fly to the province of Alicante, Spain on May 25th. However, he was shocked to receive a booking cancellation notice from the airline, EasyJet, which also added him to a no-fly list.
Afterwards, Harris contacted the airline to inquire about the situation and was informed that he shared the same name and date of birth with another passenger who had been banned from boarding due to serious crimes. The airline staff confirmed that it was a case of mistaken identity.
Frustrated by this unwarranted ordeal, Harris exclaimed, “I have never done anything like that in my life.” After clarifying the misunderstanding with the airline, his canceled seat was reinstated. However, the airline only provided him with a few hours to reach the airport, causing him “incredible stress.” Harris vowed never to choose that particular airline again.
