5-6-2023 (GENEVA) The lavish Geneva residence of Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, Malaysia’s first-ever Oscar-winning actress who secured the Best Actress award at the 95th Academy Awards, has been unveiled. Despite her focus on the European and American markets, Michelle has chosen to establish her permanent residence in Geneva, Switzerland, alongside her partner, former Ferrari CEO Jean Todt. The opulent mansion, resembling a castle from the outside, showcases a fusion of classical and modern architectural styles, reflecting the refined taste of the couple. The Geneva estate, where Michelle Yeoh and Jean Todt currently reside, was renovated from an 18th-century building, with careful preservation of its original features. The interior of the mansion exudes grandeur and artistry, akin to a palace. The living room boasts arched floor-to-ceiling windows, ensuring ample natural light and featuring a color scheme dominated by off-white and wood tones, emanating an understated elegance that showcases their impeccable taste.
Their study is adorned with deep green walls, evoking a sense of historical charm, complemented by dark brown mahogany furniture, exuding a dignified and stately ambiance. The study houses a collection of Formula One racing memorabilia, including a Ferrari racing helmet, as well as a framed photograph capturing Jean Todt alongside F1 racing champion Michael Schumacher. Another corner of the study proudly displays mementos from Michelle Yeoh’s past biographical film, “The Lady.”
While the living room exudes classical elegance and the study exudes vintage sophistication, Michelle Yeoh’s kitchen in her Geneva mansion showcases a sleek and modern design. The kitchen predominantly features a black-and-white color palette, characterized by clean lines, well-equipped appliances, and large windows that provide abundant natural light from both sides. Additionally, Michelle Yeoh made real estate investments in Hong Kong during her early career in the entertainment industry. In 1992, she purchased a luxury residence on The Peak for HKD 6.2 million (approximately MYR 3.54 million). Over the course of 31 years, the value of the property has soared to around HKD 75 million (approximately MYR 42.8 million), representing a twelvefold increase from its original purchase price and indicating her astute investment acumen.
