2-6-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) In a recently released promotional video by TGV Cinemas for the upcoming film “The Little Mermaid,” Awkwafina, along with her co-star Jacob Tremblay, urged Malaysian fans to experience the movie on the big screen.
During the video, the actress, whose real name is Nora Lum, shared that she used to reside in Kuala Lumpur and frequented the mentioned cinema chain for movie-watching.
“I used to go watch movies there. It’s a great place,” she expressed.
The 35-year-old, a native of New York, also took a moment to send a warm greeting to Malaysian viewers, saying, “Hi Malaysia! I love you and I miss you.”
While Awkwafina didn’t delve into details about her time in Kuala Lumpur, she previously mentioned in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar her fondness for the city’s cuisine, describing it as “a cool food city.”
“When I visited Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, I truly enjoyed the food. They had this dish called Hainanese chicken rice and roti canai. I’m absolutely obsessed with it,” she shared.
