1-6-2023 (KUALA LUMPUR) Malaysian singer Ariff Bahran remains unfazed despite facing criticism and mockery from netizens after posting a video on social media showcasing cash stored in a refrigerator.
The 25-year-old Ariff Bahran, in an interview with online media outlet “mStar,” expressed his indifference towards negative comments, stating that if someone gets “hurt” by online criticisms, it means they don’t understand how social media functions.
He explained that the video he shared on the TikTok platform was merely creative content, and he had already explained to his followers the purpose and source of the money stored in the fridge. “I understand the function of social media. I’m fine because if we get discouraged by the opinions and criticisms of netizens, it only shows that we don’t understand how social media works.”

“I did it just for fun, and I have also explained to my followers that I still deposit the money into my bank account. I just have some expenses that require cash payment.”
Having taken a break from the entertainment industry for a while, Ariff admitted that he didn’t expect the video to receive such widespread attention, as his previous content didn’t generate much interest.
“I didn’t expect this video to go viral. I previously shared my songs, but they didn’t receive much attention. However, when I shared my personal life, many people wanted to know.”
Ariff Bahran stated that the unexpected popularity of the video hasn’t made him forget who he is. Instead, it has given him the opportunity to help many internet users who seek assistance.
He mentioned that he understands the struggles of those in need and is willing to help alleviate their burdens without hesitation. “Before becoming a singer, I was in their shoes. I help as much as I can, but I don’t want to disclose more.”
“I understand the feeling of starting independent life at 18 or 19, especially for those who have just entered the workforce. I understand their emotions.”
