31-5-2023 (TAIPEI) The Global Anti-Scam Organization (GASO) recently issued a public statement on its Facebook fan page, highlighting the case of a Chinese female internet personality who was allegedly drugged in a bar in Bangkok, woke up in KK Park the following day, and was subjected to sexual assault and house arrest. The organization also called for vigilance among Taiwanese tourists visiting Thailand. However, after an investigation by the Taiwanese police, it was suggested that the incident involving the Chinese internet celebrity might have been a publicity stunt, although they will remain attentive to any potential Taiwanese victims.
On Monday, the YouTube channel “Global Anti-Fraud Organization GASO-Chinese” released a video in which members of the organization revealed that scam groups are employing increasingly aggressive tactics. They claimed that a Chinese female internet celebrity was drugged at a male model shop and taken to Myawaddy (KK Park), where she was reportedly raped by a scam group and held captive. The organization is currently making efforts to secure her rescue.
The organization further shared a public statement on its Facebook fan page on Tuesday, which mentioned this case and another incident, sparking public discussion.
According to ETtoday News Cloud, based on several pieces of evidence, the police have uncovered that a Chinese travel influencer on Douyin was previously accused of staging a publicity stunt in March, bearing similarities to the organization’s description. Sohu.com reported that a Chinese female internet celebrity had once visited a Thai male model restaurant and encountered an incident, but later she appeared and clarified that it was all false. Thai authorities also denied the occurrence of such an incident, leading to controversy among Chinese netizens. However, the veracity of the claims is yet to be confirmed.
According to reports, the TikTok female internet celebrity conducted a live broadcast to provide an explanation, stating that she had undergone medical beauty treatments in Thailand, which resulted in her appearing emaciated. However, since GASO did not provide clear identification, it remains uncertain whether it refers to the same person, and the authenticity of the incident is still questionable.
On Tuesday, “GASO” shared a public statement on its Facebook page, disclosing two abduction cases in Thailand. One involves a Chinese female internet celebrity with millions of fans who was drugged in a well-known bar in Bangkok and woke up in KK Park, where she was allegedly subjected to sexual assault and held captive. In another case, a Taiwanese tourist who had been staying in Bangkok for five days was also drugged and woke up in Myanmar’s Old Street. It is claimed that the tourist was coerced into joining the scam group to engage in fraudulent activities. The Taiwanese tourist attempted to escape by jumping from the fourth floor, as he did not wish to participate in the fraud, but unfortunately, he suffered paralysis and is currently receiving treatment in a Myanmar hospital.
