31-5-2023 (SHENYANG) Richie Jen Hsien-chi, the popular Taiwanese singer and actor, continues to captivate audiences with his ongoing concert tour. During his recent performance in Shenyang on May 28th, an unexpected reunion took place between Richie and a fan whose life he had once saved.
At the concert, a 23-year-old woman claimed to have known Richie for 22 years, which instantly caught everyone’s attention. “I’m 23 years old now, and I’ve known you for 22 years. When I was young, you even held me in your arms,” the young woman exclaimed. Richie was visibly surprised as she presented a photo of him carrying her as a child.
It turns out that the woman had a congenital heart disease when she was young, and her family faced financial difficulties that prevented her from receiving the necessary surgery. “It was during your journey to Shenyang for a concert that you saw the news in the media and donated 30,000 yuan for my operation. It was because of you that I was able to undergo the surgery. And here I am, 22 years later, attending your concert,” the woman emotionally recounted. Her story sparked cheers from the entire audience, leaving Richie astonished as he exclaimed, “You’ve grown up so much!”
The woman requested Richie to perform the song “Don’t Change,” expressing her hope that their love for each other and the boundless compassion in the world would remain unchanged.
Later that evening, Richie took to social media to express his thoughts on the unexpected encounter. He described such encounters in life as moments that often leave people amazed and moved. He expressed his wish for this love to not only remain constant but also reach even further. Richie, who officially debuted as a singer in 1990 and ventured into the film industry in 1991 with the movie “Guardsman Caught Robber,” achieved great success in 1996 with the release of his album “Too Soft-Hearted,” which sold a remarkable 26 million copies. The title track of the album, “Too Soft-Hearted,” became a signature hit for him. Richie’s notable works also include his 1998 album “Love Like the Pacific,” featuring popular songs like “Look Over Here, Girl” and “Heartbroken Pacific.”
