30-5-2023 (MANILA) A soon-to-be mother from North Caloocan has captured the attention of social media users with her amusing conversation with her father, who mistakenly believed her sonogram to be a satellite image of a powerful typhoon.
Camille Pearl Billones-Apawan, an active social media user, couldn’t contain her excitement as she shared the result of her transvaginal ultrasound with her loved ones on Sunday, May 28. Eager to include her father, Ronnie, who is currently in Aklan, Apawan decided to send him a snapshot of the sonogram via Messenger.
To Apawan’s surprise, her father interpreted the image in a completely unexpected manner, mistaking the sonogram for a satellite image of Super Typhoon Mawar, locally named “Betty,” which had entered the Philippine area of responsibility earlier that Saturday.
While extending his congratulations, Apawan’s father humorously remarked that his other grandchild, Aki, now had a formidable rival.
Apawan shared with the Inquirer in an interview that this was not the first time she had a comical conversation with her father, who consistently injects jokes and witty remarks into their chats. She recalled an incident in April 2022 when she messaged her father to inform him that they had been involved in an accident. Instead of asking about their well-being, her father’s first question was whether they had received payment from the person responsible for the accident.
When Apawan confirmed that they had been compensated with P6,000, her father jokingly replied, “You should get into more accidents. Make it a daily routine. Instant riches, right?”
