25-5-2023 (Kuala Lumpur) Social media platforms were abuzz yesterday with the circulation of a promotional poster advertising a “Gang Bang JB” event in Johor Bahru. The event was scheduled to take place on June 20th, from 4 PM to 9 PM. The Johor police have initiated an investigation into the matter, stressing that organizing such activities is illegal and issuing a stern warning to the event organizers to cancel the event.

Johor’s Chief Police Officer, Dato’ Kamaluddin bin Kamarulzaman, stated that the police will continue to monitor any activities that violate the law and will take decisive action upon discovering any illegal activities.
He further revealed that the police have initiated investigations under two relevant laws, including Section 292(e) of the Penal Code. If convicted, the perpetrators could face imprisonment for up to three years, a fine, or both.
In his official statement today, Dato’ Kamaluddin disclosed that the dissemination of related information on social media platforms would be investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. If found guilty, individuals can be fined up to RM50,000, imprisoned for up to one year, or both.
