During a live streaming session, two hosts were suddenly attacked by a man wielding a long knife. The disturbing incident unfolded as the assailant swung his weapon at the hosts, who quickly jumped away to evade the attack. However, one of them had their hand severed on the spot, with the entire gruesome scene broadcasted live online. The shocking footage left viewers horrified, although some internet users have raised doubts about the authenticity of the incident, suggesting that a prosthetic hand was used for sensationalism and to generate online traffic.

Subsequently, netizens shared images of the injured host seeking medical treatment. The individual’s arm was visibly bandaged, clearly missing a section where the severed hand should have been. According to Chinese media reports, the perpetrator, a 14-year-old male, held a grudge against one of the hosts, named Ye, due to a dispute on Douyin (Chinese version of TikTok). However, he mistakenly attacked another host, named Shi, during the live streaming session.
Nevertheless, some internet users questioned the veracity of the entire event, claiming that the severed hand was fake. They analyzed, “Even an experienced butcher would struggle to sever a hand from the bone using an axe or a thick blade pressed against a cutting board. It is impossible to sever a hand so easily with a knife. Moreover, the hand has high blood pressure in its arteries, so if it were severed, there would be blood splattering everywhere. It’s just a few idiots trying to exploit recent violent incidents to gain attention, but there is nothing worth paying attention to.”
