25-5-2023 (Zurich) The world mourns the loss of Tina Turner, the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” who has peacefully passed away at the age of 83 after a prolonged illness in her home in Kusnacht, near Zurich, Switzerland, according to her spokesperson.
Recognized as one of rock’s most iconic vocalists and captivating performers, Turner leaves behind a legacy of extraordinary music. Her electrifying stage presence and chart-topping hits, including “The Best,” “Proud Mary,” “Private Dancer,” and “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” have cemented her status as a true music legend.
In the wake of her passing, an outpouring of tributes flooded in from fellow musicians and admirers. Sir Mick Jagger, lead singer of the Rolling Stones, described her as an “enormously talented performer and singer,” emphasizing how she had been a source of inspiration and support during his early years. Sir Elton John, along with a picture of himself and Turner, hailed her as “untouchable” and a “total legend on record and on stage.” Diana Ross, Bette Midler, and Giorgio Armani were among the many others who paid homage to the influential artist.

Turner’s journey was not without its trials. She battled intestinal cancer and faced the aftermath of a stroke. In 2018, she bravely disclosed that her husband had selflessly donated a kidney, saving her life at a time when she contemplated assisted suicide.
Roger Davies, Turner’s manager for three decades, lauded her as “a unique and remarkable force of nature” and expressed profound sadness at her passing. Her strength, incredible energy, and immense talent have left an indelible mark on the music world.
