28-11-2025 (BANGKOK) Thai police confirmed the death toll from the severe flooding has reached 104, as of Wednesday evening, with forensic teams racing against time to identify the remains and determine the exact cause of death for scores of victims. Deputy Inspector General Police Lieutenant General Trairong Phiewphan is overseeing operations at the Songkhla Nakarin Hospital Forensic Medicine Center, which serves as the sole collection point for bodies recovered from the devastation in Songkhla province and surrounding regions.
A significant forensic challenge involves 47 bodies retrieved directly from the affected areas by rescue staff. Police must conduct detailed examinations on these victims to definitively confirm whether the cause of death was a direct result of the floodwaters or stemmed from pre-existing medical conditions, a critical step before issuing final reports.

To manage the logistics and preserve the remains, the Royal Thai Police deployed six refrigerated container units to the site. Furthermore, the agency is immediately boosting its manpower, mobilizing investigators and increasing the number of forensic doctors stationed at the center from three to eight within the next two days. Police say their immediate priority is expediting the identification of individuals with clear records to ensure the fastest possible return of remains to their waiting families.
