22-11-2025 (MANILA) Police in Quezon province have arrested a 39-year-old man who allegedly sexually assaulted and blackmailed a 16-year-old girl after luring her to his home with the promise of P200 (Philippine Pesos), the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) confirmed. The suspect, arrested in Sariaya town, reportedly met the victim online and convinced her to visit his residence to collect the money she was promised, as first reported by ABS-CBN News.
Once inside, the suspect allegedly forced the teenager to stay and sexually abused her while recording the act on video. Authorities stated that the man later used this video footage to blackmail the victim, threatening to release it if she refused to meet him again. The situation prompted the victim to tell her mother after the video was reportedly shared with one of her friends, leading to a police entrapment operation and the suspect’s capture.
PNP-ACG Director PBGen. Wilson Asueta urged parents to guide their children on social media use, stressing the danger of trusting strangers online. The suspect is currently detained and faces multiple severe charges, including violations of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act and statutory rape. Further court proceedings will determine the scope of his liability.
