26-2-2025 (MANILA) Philippine authorities successfully reunited a 14-year-old Chinese lad with his father following a harrowing kidnapping incident that ended when the youngster was discovered abandoned on Macapagal Avenue in Parañaque City on Tuesday evening.
“The safety of every resident—Filipino or foreign—is our top priority,” declared Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), who praised the swift response of his officers. “This rescue exemplifies our police force’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding all individuals within our borders.”
In what officials described as a coordinated effort, elements from the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group worked alongside the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the National Capital Region Police Office to recover the teenager. Following his rescue, the boy was promptly taken to hospital for medical evaluation.
Authorities confirmed no ransom exchanged hands for the youth’s release. “We will not permit criminal elements to sow fear throughout our communities,” Marbil emphasised, adding that the police would “bolster intelligence-gathering and operational capabilities to prevent similar incidents.”
