26-2-2025 (MANILA) A brazen armed robber who orchestrated a meticulously timed series of convenience store heists across Manila’s northern districts has been apprehended by authorities in Baclaran following an extensive manhunt.
The perpetrator embarked on his criminal enterprise shortly before midnight on Friday, targeting his first establishment in Caloocan City at approximately 11:30 pm, according to investigative reporting by Marisol Abdurahman for the 24 Oras news programme.
Surveillance footage from the initial crime scene revealed the suspect—clad in a distinctive brown hoodie, shorts and face covering—menacing the cashier with a firearm before absconding with the contents of the till. Displaying remarkable audacity, the man proceeded to execute two additional robberies in quick succession.
With barely an hour’s intermission, the same individual was captured on security cameras at a Quezon City convenience outlet, where he held a male victim at gunpoint whilst relieving the premises of its takings. Demonstrating an alarming efficiency, he completed his criminal trifecta by targeting yet another Caloocan shop within the following hour.
“His modus operandi involved entering the convenience stores and immediately threatening staff with his weapon,” explained Colonel Edcille Canals, Caloocan Police chief. “He would then systematically empty the day’s earnings from the registers. Though he attempted to access the establishments’ vaults, his efforts were limited to seizing cash directly from the tills.”
