25-2-2025 (SINGAPORE) Police have unveiled CCTV footage of a conspicuous bald suspect sought in connection with a shoplifting incident at the prestigious Raffles City shopping complex.
The brazen theft, which occurred on 19 February, comes against a backdrop of escalating retail crime statistics that have left merchants increasingly vigilant. Police data reveals an alarming 7.6 per cent surge in shoplifting incidents throughout 2024, with 4,237 cases documented compared to 3,939 the previous year. These incidents now constitute a substantial 21.2 per cent of all physical crimes reported.
