The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) executed an arrest warrant at 10:33 AM local time, entering the former leader’s central Seoul residence in what observers describe as an unprecedented move against a recent head of state.
Television broadcasts captured the moment a motorcade of black vehicles, believed to be transporting the embattled ex-president, departed his residence under heavy security en route to the CIO headquarters in Gwacheon, a satellite city south of the capital.
