7-1-2025 (BANGKOK) Thai authorities have launched an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of Chinese television actor Wang Xing, professionally known as Xingxing, following reports that he was last seen near the Thailand-Myanmar border.
Police Major General Samrit Ekamol, chief of Tak Police, revealed on Tuesday that according to an eyewitness account, a Myanmar national collected the actor from Mae Sot district in Tak province. “The witness reported that Mr Wang entered the vehicle voluntarily, showing no signs of distress or coercion,” Samrit stated.
The actor’s girlfriend, identified only as Jiajia, told Chinese state media outlet Global Times that Xingxing had arrived at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on Friday for what he believed was a film shoot in Thailand. According to her account, the actor was collected by transport allegedly arranged by the production team.
However, concerns were raised when tracking data indicated the vehicle deviated from any logical route, with all contact lost near the Thailand-Myanmar border around midday Beijing time on Friday.
A source within Thailand’s security agency, speaking to The Nation, confirmed that extensive checks of immigration records at the Huai Hin Fon checkpoint in Muang district have yielded no evidence of the actor’s official border crossing. The source noted that a more thorough biometric search would require additional documentation, such as the actor’s passport details or complete biographical information.
Xingxing, who has gained popularity through his roles in several Chinese television dramas including “Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact” and “The Tale of Rose,” remains missing as authorities continue their investigation.
Thai officials are currently working to pinpoint the actor’s exact location, with law enforcement agencies on both sides of the border coordinating their efforts.
