5-1-2025 (SINGAPORE) A tragic incident unfolded on Thursday morning when a 64-year-old female cyclist lost her life following a devastating collision with a trailer truck at a busy junction in Tampines, a residential district in eastern Singapore.
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 9:30 am at the intersection of Tampines Avenue 2 and Tampines Street 11, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. Multiple emergency vehicles, including police units and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel, were dispatched to the scene.
The victim was rushed to hospital in an unconscious state but sadly succumbed to her injuries. Law enforcement officials have confirmed the arrest of the trailer truck operator, a 44-year-old man, who now faces charges related to causing death by driving without reasonable consideration for other road users.
