23-12-2024 (BANGKOK) A foreign national was taken into custody after consuming his traffic violation ticket during a routine police stop in Pattaya, Thailand, on Saturday evening.
The peculiar incident unfolded at a checkpoint directly outside the Pattaya Police Station, where officers halted the shirtless motorcyclist who was also notably riding without a protective helmet. When requested to produce his driving credentials, the tourist steadfastly refused to comply with the officers’ demands.
Upon being issued a citation for multiple infractions, including operating a vehicle without proper licensing and protective headgear, the man stunned officers by promptly placing the ticket in his mouth and washing it down with water.
Law enforcement officers initially attempted to secure the situation by immobilising the motorcycle’s front wheel and tried unsuccessfully to restrain the defiant tourist. After a tense standoff, the individual eventually conceded to accompanying officers into the station to face charges.
